Statistician Vincent Marmara noted that Malta has a lower reproduction rate of Covid-19, compared with other countries.

In a video uploaded on Facebook, he said that this does not mean we should be complacent, until the rate goes down to less than one – for example with two persons who start infecting another person, we would likewise have a growing spread.

Mr Marmara added that currently we have a reproduction rate of two persons infecting another three, reiterating that the rate has to go down to less than one.

He appealed to people to listen to authorities and keep social distancing.
